Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines that originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mindrecognizing a detached witness-consciousness untouched by the mind (Chitta) and mundane suffering (Duḥkha). There is a wide variety of schools of yoga, practices, and goals in HinduismBuddhism, and Jainism, and traditional and modern yoga is practiced worldwide. Read more

Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates called his method "Contrology". Pilates developed in the aftermath of the late 19th-century physical culture of exercising in order to alleviate ill health. Read more

Functional training is a classification of exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life. Functional training has its origins in rehabilitation. Physical and occupational therapists and chiropractors often use this approach to retrain patients with movement disorders. Interventions are designed to incorporate task and context specific practice in areas meaningful to each patient, with an overall goal of functional independence. Read more

Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment which looks like a bed with springs, a sliding carriage, ropes and pulleys. The origins of the Pilates reformer date back to the original Pilates studio in New York in the 1920's and was designed by Joseph Pilates himself. Read more

HIIT

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a training protocol alternating short periods of intense or explosive anaerobic exercise with brief recovery periods until the point of exhaustion, which thereby relies on "the anaerobic energy releasing system almost maximally." The method involves exercises performed in repeated quick bursts at maximum or near maximal effort with periods of rest or low activity between bouts. 

Acro Yoga is a physical practice that combines yoga and acrobatics. Acroyoga includes many types of (mostly recreational) partner and group acrobatics in which at least someone is lifted. As such, it also draws on traditions of circus arts, cheerleading, and dance acro. Acro Yoga is more vigorous than many traditional forms of yoga as exercise and may lead to more injuries. Read more

SUP Yoga

 SUP yoga (paddle board yoga) is the practice of yoga on a paddle board in the middle of a body of water. SUP yoga is best practiced on calm waters such as lakes, bays, or harbors. Over the past couple of years, SUP yoga has become a popular water sport for yogis and those who already enjoy kayaking.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports and a form of boxing based on kicking and punching. The combat takes place in a boxing ring, normally with boxing gloves, mouthguards, shorts, and bare feet to favor the use of kicks. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or for competition. Some styles of kickboxing include: Japanese kickboxing, Savate, Sanda and Muay Thai.

Core

Core training refers to the targeted strengthening of the core muscles. These are mainly the straight and lateral abdominal muscles and the back muscles. The muscles support and protect the spine. It also connects the upper and lower body. A strong core is essential for a healthy body.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of purposely bringing one's attention in the present moment without evaluation, a skill one develops through meditation or other training. Mindfulness derives from sati, a significant element of Buddhist traditions, and is based on Zen, Vipassanā, and Tibetan meditation techniques.

Surfers

Surfing

Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found on ocean shores, but can also be found in standing waves in the open ocean, in lakes, in rivers in the form of a tidal bore, or in wave pools.
